The chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) Vlad Filat called on the citizens to be united and not to yield to the provocations and pressure that may appeared before the Vilnius Summit. In a news conference, Vlad Filat said the provocations can come both from inside and outside the country, IPN reports.

“Now more than ever, we must be united and strong in front of the provocations that will target the whole country, certain regions or persons in particular. Regardless of the type and origin of this pressure, we must be united and promote the idea that Moldova’s course to the EU means future welfare,” said Vlad Filat.

He also said that Moldova has yet a lot of work to do, including to adopt laws and to implement them. Moldova must durably and incontestably reform the state institutions, modernize industry and agriculture and create workplaces. According to Vlad Filat, the country now goes through a stage that requires maximum political and civic maturity.

On November 18, the PLDM launched the National Responsibility Pact for a European Moldova and called upon all the parliamentary and extra-parliamentary parties and on civil society and the ordinary people of Moldova to support it as a commitment as regards the European integration.

The signatories pledge to act in concert and to ensure the cohesion of whole society, elites, political forces, civil society and the people. They also commit themselves to ensure the continuity of the European integration process, despite provocations and pressure, and to promote the European integration as a national project and to mobilize society around this project.
