People pass indifferently by workers who clean their blocks

Only some of the dwellers lend a hand to the employees of the Public Amenities Division who clean the stairs in apartment buildings, the Division’s head Petru Gontea said at Monday’s meeting of the Chisinau City Hall. Even if the cleanup campaign is aimed at showing the dwellers that they are the real owners of their houses and it is their duty to engage in cleaning activities, the people remain indifferent, Petru Gontea said. Over 1,000 workers of the municipal housing stock management companies weekly clean the stairs in 100 apartment buildings, but the dwellers pass by indifferently. Only ten dwellers got involved in the cleaning process last week, while a week earlier - 14 dwellers. “We will establish a public-private partnership. We will provide materials and equipment, while the dwellers will take part in the cleanup,” said Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca at the launch of the campaign that involves cleaning and washing the windows, banisters and stairs.
