People of art will sign National Responsibility Pact

Members of arts unions of Moldova sill sign the National Responsibility Pact for a European Moldova launched by the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova. The announcement was made in a news conference at IPN.

The chairman of the Writers Union Arcadie Suceveanu said the pact was supported by the people by the statement adopted in the November 3 pro-European assembly. By subscribing to this pact, society signed a contract with the future of the young generations that will have access to a society based on better living standards and services of a high quality.

The arts unions called upon the parliamentary opposition to support the pact. “It is a sincere and well-founded document that expresses the essence of the pro-European approaches promoted for many years by the democratic parties, and even the Communist Party in a period,” said Arcadie Suceveanu.

The members of the Union of Composers and Musicologists Vlad Burlea and Mihai Cocieru said the association with the European Union will have positive effects on all the areas, including culture. The initialing of the Association Agreement with the EU and the support for the European course will contribute to removing the existing problems and will help the people of art of Moldova.

The chairman of the Filmmakers Union Sergiu Prodan said the arts unions are apolitical and support the European course not because it is promoted by a party or another. The integration into the EU has always been the aspiration of the people of art as they want to eliminate the borders and obstacles to developing the national culture.

The National Responsibility Pact for a European Moldova is also supported by the Union of Plastic Artists, the Union of Craftsmen, and the Union of Architects.
