“The people in Chisinau are simple and have dignity, they are optimistic and have beautiful plans for the future. That's how I see an inhabitant of our capital and wish everyone was like this”, the head of Chisinau's Buiucani district Valeriu Nemerenco told Info-Prim Neo.
“The City Day is our common holiday. I bid the city and its citizens to be beautiful on the inside and on the outside, to flourish and have many important achievements”, he said.
Valeriu Nemerenco is happy that many foreign guests attend the holiday, which proves that Moldovans are appreciated abroad. He added that people who contributed to the development of the city weren't forgotten. Those who worked in the administration of Buiucani district, called the Frunze district until 1992, are always invited to the City Day and other events.
Valeriu Nemerenco said that this year Buiucani district prepared a larger cultural-artistic program than in previous years. That's why the District Head's Office requested more space on the Stefan cel Mare Avenue to have enough room for all companies that wanted to present their offers at the fair. “We organize exhibitions with sales. About 80 companies, some of them for the first time, present their goods. We tried to prepare something interesting and attractive. We'll even have a train for children”, he said.
Valeriu Nemerenco said that Chisinau lacked a statute, a strong law like in other capitals of the world. “There's more work required for the city lighting and better roads. We want an improved economy and stability in society. If economy is developed, the people have less troubles, are honest and good-mooded”, he stated.
Valeriu Nemerenco concluded optimistically, saying that he attended various events in many foreign capitals, but never experienced the same feelings like in Chisinau. “Our capital says goodbye and welcome with the same warmth. You feel relieved every time you return here”.
{Valeriu Nemerenco graduated from the Law School, worked as a prosecutor and then as an adviser for MP Mircea Snegur. He served as head of Buiucani district from 1992 to 2009 . After being an MP for a year, he returned to the District Head's Office.}
