People crowd at Opera Square to hear Biden speak

Hundreds of people started gathering at the Opera Square in Chisinau four hours ahead of the public speech to be delivered here by US Vice President Joe Biden beginning 2:00PM, Info-Prim Neo reports. Those who have already arrived in the square are mostly people outside of Chisinau, who came earlier to avoid adverse traffic conditions. “We came earlier so as to avoid traffic jams, to make sure that we arrive in time to see everything. This is a very important event, a first-time event for Moldova” says Alexandru Ciuvaga, who came from Ungheni. “I want to see the American vice president before I die”, joked an elderly woman from Chisinau. Many of people in the Square described themselves as supporters of the Liberal-Democratic Party, headed by Prime Minister Vlad Filat, on whose invitation Vice President Joe Biden is coming to Moldova.
