Minister of Labor, Social Protection and Family Ruxanda Glavan said the indexation coefficient was determined based on the 10.8% increase in the average official salary in 2014, as opposed to 2013, and the 5.1% rise in the consumer price index last year.

After indexation, the disability pension will rise by 69.61 lei. The lowest disability pensions will be 613 lei (I degree), 592 lei (II degree) and 416 lei (III degree). The successor’s pensions will increase by 44.79 lei on average, while the pensions paid to those who took part in the Chernobyl cleanup – by 187.9 lei.

Only the part of pension paid from the state social insurance budget will be raised for former MPs, members of the Cabinet, public functionaries and local elected officials, prosecutors and customs employees.
