Pensions in the Transnistrian region will be increased by 7% as of next January. A bill to this effect was given a first reading by the so-called supreme soviet of the region, IPN reports.
The average pension in the region together with bonuses is 1,337 Transnistrian rubles. In the first half of 2018, the minimum subsistence level for pensioners rose by 60 rubles to 1,244 rubles.
The total number of recipients of pensions in the Transnistrian region on June 30, 2018 decreased by over 3,000 compared with December 31, 2017 to 115,500 persons.
On the right bank of the Nistru, the pensioners with incomes lower than the minimum subsistence level for this category, which is 1,589 lei, will benefit from a 10% rise in pensions as of January 1, 2019, in addition to the April annual general indexation of pensions.
