Pensions provided by Chisinau to Transnistrians

The Government approved amendments to the law on additional social protection for pension recipients so that the inhabitants of Transnistria will benefit from higher pensions, in accordance with the recent adjustments made to the pension system of the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports.

The women aged between 55 and 57 and men aged between 60 and 62, who do not receive pensions set by the Transnistrian administration, can apply for higher state pensions.

Under the changes made recently to the pension system, the retirement age for men by 2019 will rise to 63. The retirement age for women will be gradually increased and in 2028 will be equal to that of men.
