Pensions indexed by 3.86%. Minimum old age pension is 2,000 lei

As from October 1, all the pensions are indexed by 3.86%, while the minimum old-age pension for persons with a full insurance period is 2,000 lei, IPN reports, quoting the National House of Social Insurance.

The indexation is applied to: old-age pensions, disability pensions, seniority pensions, pensions of public functionaries, pensions of customs service employees, capitalized periodical payments, disability allowances, monthly pensions and compensations paid to citizens affected by the Chernobyl nuclear disaster, pensions of service members and personnel of the command corps and troops of the internal affairs bodies and of the Genital Carabineer Inspectorate, allowances paid to successors of health workers who died in the line of duty while fighting COVID-19 and pensions of judges.

Under the Government Decision, the minimum old-age pension as from October 1, 2021 is 2,000 lei. From this date, 182,000 pensioners with a full insurance period whose old-age pension was lower than 2,000 lei will get a minimum pension of 2,000 lei a month, while 121,000 pensioners with an incomplete insurance period will have their old-age pension raised proportionally to the insurance period accumulated by the time the pension was set.

The minimum disability pension as of October 1, 2021 in the case of severe disability is 1,500 lei, in the case of accentuated disability – 1,400 lei, while in the case of moderate disability – 1,000 lei.

The state social benefits for 71,000 recipients are being recalculated.

A total of 679,000 persons will receive indexed pensions starting with October 1.

The National House of Social Insurance said that it performed all the procedures for ensuring the payment of indexed pensions and recalculated social benefits as of today.
