Starting with October, the pensioners in the Transnistrian region will receive their pensions in the amount of 80%. So far the pensions and salaries of budget-funded employees were paid in the amount of 70%, IPN reports.

According to the public TV channel of Transnistria, the social benefits are paid on time even if the amounts collected into the local social fund cover only 60% of the costs. In a recent extraordinary meeting of the so-called executive of the region, the Transnistrian leader Yevgheny Shevchuk ordered stopping the financing of other projects so as to pay pensions in the amount of 80%.

The pensions for persons with disabilities and war veterans, the unemployment benefit, maternity and childcare benefits and sickness benefit are paid fully.

The Transnistrian administration said each pensioner and budget-funded employee from November 1 will receive a certificate showing the sum owed to them by the authorities for the period during which the pensions and salaries were paid in the amount of 70%, since March. This certificate will help the pensioners and budget-funded employees get the overdue amount when the debts start to be settled.
