Pensioners with pensions lower than 2,000 lei will receive aid on holidays

The pensioners with pensions lower than 2,000 lei will receive by 600 lei in aid on the occasion of the winter holidays. Over 500,000 pensioners are to benefit from such aid and the money will be allocated in the second half of December, the leader of the Democratic Party Vlad Plahotniuc announced after the party’s November 27 meeting, IPN reports.

According to Vlad Plahotniuc, the cold-month allowance provided to socially deprived groups of people will grow by 12%. The minimum income bases on which the cold-month allowance is provided will also be raised. All the families with incomes under 2,000 lei will receive by 350 lei a month during November – March. Earlier, such allowances were paid to families with incomes lower than 1,600 lei.

The Democratic leader also said the salaries of postmen will grow by 35% to 100%, mainly in rural areas. About 4,800 postmen will receive higher salaries for December. Following requests made by people, it was decided that the postmen will take pensions home to persons who want as of this December.

Vlad Plahotniuc noted all the budget-funded employees who received bonuses on holidays will continue to receive them, in December. The annual award, the so-called 13th salary, is kept and will be provided to budget-funded employees in February and to education system employees in August.
