More than 56,000 voters aged between 56 and 70 exercised their right to vote in the municipality of Chisinau by 4pm, being the most active voters. The people aged between 18 and 25 are the most passive ones. Only about 8,000 young people cast their ballots, deputy head of the Chisinau District Electoral Council Ina Babin stated in a press briefing, IPN reports.
The voters aged between 41 and 55 were also active, with over 36,000 people of this age bracket having voted by 4pm. Almost 33,000 voters aged between 26 and 40 also marked theri choice, as did over 18,000 pensioners aged over 70.
From territorial viewpoint, the voters in Rascani district of Chisinau are the most active ones, with a participation rate of 26.66%, being followed, in descending order, by the voters from Centru district with 25.34%, those from Botanica with 25%, those from Buiucani with 24.2% and those from Ciocana with 23.26%. In the suburban communities, the highest voter turnout was in Tohatin commune, of 25.77%. The voters in Bacioi are the most passive ones, with a participation rate of only 15.25%.
