The pension of invalid military men, including of the invalids of II World War could increase from the monthly average pension of MDL 102.9 to MDL 287.6. The Ministry of Health and Social Protection together with the Ministry of Finances proposed this week to amend the legislation in force, in order to increase the pension for this social category. 1125 invalid military men were registered at the beginning of 2006. The major argument for this category’s pension growth is the fact that the value of the social insurances of which the invalid military men benefit was increased only in 2004 by 22.4%. At the same time, it was proposed to adjust the pensions depending on the annual increase of the consumption prices. According to the statistical data, the average invalidity pensions for military men constitutes MDL 88.62 – MDL 126.7 (depending on the invalidity degree), and for the II World War invalids – from MDL 99.14 to MDL 122.28. The estimations show that the supplementary finances for 6 months related to the increase of military’s pensions constitutes about MDL 670 thousand. The draft was approved by the Government and has to be examined and approved by the Parliament.
