The business entities that supply food products to education institutions could be penalized administratively for the non-observance of sanitary legislation. The measure is stipulated in a Government decision to supplement the Contravention Code, drafted by the Ministry of Health. This was published on particip.gov.md, IPN reports.

The quality of food products delivered to education institutions should correspond to the information shown on labels. If this norm is violated, the companies that supply products will be fined 7,500 to 10,000 lei. The farmers who provide products will face fines of 500 to 1,250 lei, while the managers of education institutions that allow unhealthy food to be given to children will be fined 2,500 to 4,000 lei.

Fines will also be imposed on employers who hire persons in the absence medical examination or who do not request the employees to have prophylactic medical examinations. In this case, the penalties will vary between 10,000 and 12,500 lei. There will also be fines of 2,500 to 15,000 lei for non-observance of the labor protection norms and exposure of personnel to noxious factors.

The Ministry of Health asks to submit suggestions about the draft Government decision.
