Two pedestrian checkpoints will be reconstructed according to high standards and will be put into operation by this autumn. These are the checkpoints of the Otaci customs post that are weekly crossed by over 40,000 people, IPN reports.

According to the Customs Service, the customs inspectors and border police officers will enjoy new working and checkup areas. Currently, these work in damaged booths set up over 15 years ago. The furniture will also be renewed.

New sanitary facilities adjusted for persons with disabilities and parents with small children were made available at the Otaci customs post.

In the framework of the same project, a customs control area for trucks that was built 1.5 km from the customs post was put into operation in December 2017.
