Diana Tomşa, of kindergarten No. 210, was named the best educator of 2018-2019 in the municipality of Chisinau. Viorica Stanciu, of the Theoretical Lyceum “Ion Creangă”, became the teacher of the year, while Anton Dorofeev, of the Theoretical Lyceum of Exact Sciences “Mihai Marinciuc” - the best pedagogue of the year. The awards were handed over in a gala staged by the Chisinau General Division of Education, Youth and Sport, IPN reports.
Educator of the year Diana Tomşa said that today she does not regret at all having embraced the teaching profession, even if she had fear when she set off on this path. She noted she is proud of the fact that she educates children since young and is their second mother.
Teacher of the year Viorica Stanciu said she devotes herself to children in the name of the future. Each day, being their first teacher, she teachers the pupils to become decent people and be proud of what they are. She obtained her status by hard work and patience.
Pedagogue of the year Anton Dorofeev noted he became a teacher in the name of the future and he daily teaches his students also in the name of the future. A teacher guides the future which means nothing without teachers.
Chisinau General Division of Education, Youth and Sport chief Rodica Guțu stated that by this contest they aimed to praise the work of teachers and to stimulate teaching, which is a vocation that should be appropriately appreciated.
The contest involved 13 pedagogues. Three of them won laureate diplomas, while the others ranked second and third in the three categories.
