The Democratic Party (PDM) asks the Central Election Committee (CEC) to demand the withdrawal of the Social Democratic Party (PSD) from the race, accusing the latter of anti-constitutional proposals, Info-Prim Neo reports. “The PSD's initiative to rent Transnistria to Russia for 30 years proves that the leaders of this party disregard Moldova's sovereignty and the fate of the citizens living on the Nistru's left bank,” the PD deputy president, Oazu Nantoi, told a news conference on Tuesday. Nantoi says the PSD, for the sake of its electoral success, would be ready to auction Moldova's existence as a state and that Communist (PCRM) president Vladimir Voronin would use the PSD to announce the launch of Transnistria's privatization. “Taking into account that those eight years of Communist rule resulted in a lamentable failure concerning the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict, we don't rule out that the Braghis-Musuc duo is used by Vladimir Voronin to announce this anti-state idea and to test the reaction of the Moldovan society,” Nantoi said. The PD deputy leader welcomed Loretta Handrabura's leaving the PSD, suggesting other members to follow her. On the other hand, PSD leader Dumitru Braghis rejected the PD's request as groundless. “The people from the PDM do not know the Constitution, if they say the PSD has made anti-constitutional proposals. It was but a suggestion of the PSD, which needs to be considered and discussed. It's not a law,” Braghis said. The CEC can ask the Supreme Court of Justice to oust a contestant from the electoral race, if it keeps violating the election law.
