The Democratic Party of Moldova (PDM), initiating one more suspension of the legitimately elected President Igor Dodon from office, committed an act of usurpation of power, the Party of Soloists (PSRM) says in a press statement. The party accuses the PDM of staging a provocation in order to eliminate it from the electoral race.

“The absurdity of the situation resides in the fact that the Democratic Party, which in the previous parliamentary elections won only the sixth part of the votes and, by blackmail and bribe offered to MPs of other parties, created a controllable parliamentary majority, once again tries to force the President elected by the people to conform to the narrow interests of the Democratic Party,” says the PSRM’s statement that is quoted by IPN.

According to the Socialists, the candidates for ministers fielded by the PDM do not meet the professionalism and integrity criteria. “Silvia Radu, who does not have medical education, didn’t work in the health system for at least one day and was involved in a series of scandals while heading the company “Union Fenosa” and serving as acting mayor of the municipality of Chisinau, cannot claim the post of minister of health of the Republic of Moldova,” said the PSRM. As to Nicolae Ciubuc, the Socialists said this was involved in criminal processes and is suspected of acts of corruption.

The PSRM noted it supports the position of President Igor Dodon who didn’t yield to blackmail and the pressure exerted by the ruling group this time either and didn’t sign the decree to appoint incompetent ministers.
