The administration of the Democratic Party (PDM) subscribed to the National Responsibility Pact for a European Moldova launched by the chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) Vlad Filat on November 18. The announcement was made by the Democratic leader Marian Lupu in a meeting with people at one of the units of the campaign “Respect for the people of Moldova” on November 20, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué of the PDM, Marian Lupu said it is important to achieve the coalition’s goal of ensuring the European and social development of Moldova by joint actions. The success that Moldova will achieve at the Vilnius Summit is due to the Moldovan people as they chose the path to the EU. “We believe that every citizen of Moldova must be respected, while their voice must be heard both in Moldova and all over Europe,” stated Marian Lupu.

He underlined that Moldova follows the path to European integration in order to obtain free movement for the people, to develop a powerful economy and to ensure social unity and a state of general welfare.

The pact was signed by Marian Lupu, the party’s first deputy chairman Vlad Plahotniuc, the president of honor of the PDM Dumitru Diacov, and the party’s deputy chairman Igor Corman.

During two weeks, the Democratic Party has carried out a wide campaign to inform and consult the people, called “Respect for the people of Moldova: Write to Europe!”. Within it, the people transmit their messages to the EU leaders and receive information about the stages of the accession process and the benefits enjoyed by Moldova.

The National Responsibility Pact for a European Moldova is a commitment as regards the course to European integration. The signatories pledge to act in concert and to ensure the cohesion of elites, political forces, civil society and the people.
