The Chisinau organization of the Democratic Party aims at taking at least 15% of the Chisinau Municipal Council's seats and about 30% of the capital's suburban mayor's offices in the general local elections of 2015. The announcement was made by PDM Chisinau head Pavel Filip, who presented the political and institutional Strategy of the municipal organization until 2015, Info-Prim Neo learned from a PDM press release.
In order to reach these objectives, according to Pavel Filip, the list of the party's members will be revised within the next two years to become “realistic and reliable”. Concomitantly, the communication system among the municipal Party members will be perfected and improved in efficiency.
The PDM Chisinau head underlined the importance of identifying the Party's candidate to the position of Chisinau Mayor General by June 2013, and then designating the list of candidates to the post of Municipal Councilors, from within the Chisinau MO, in order to contribute to the political formation, promotion, and media coverage of the future PDM team for the local elections of 2015.
“We must open the municipal Party organization towards new types of cooperation with people or structures from professional and civil fields, which may contribute to the Party's value”, added Pavel Filip.
Democratic Party leader Marian Lupu underlined that in the next two years the PDM must give its best both at strengthening its ranks, as well as strengthening the society, which is, presently, split due to diverse principles, including the identity one. “We should already start preparing for the next elections. Our society is in a state of disillusion, which has several reasons behind it. The global economic crisis affected us as well, which did not allow us to reach all the goals we had set. However, we also have situations in which good reforms are, on principle, implemented less efficiently, thus getting compromised, as was the case with the educational reform. There is also the destabilization factor imposed to the society b y political extreme Parties”, said Marian Lupu, who underlined that the PDM will further adopt a constructive and flexible behavior, both in Parliament and the Government.
