The Democratic Party of Moldova (PDM) aims to identify a candidate for mayor of Chisinau municipality who will run in the 2015 elections. A relevant resolution was passed in the forum of the PDM’s Chisinau municipal organization on April 20. The document defines the objectives that are to be achieved for the elections of 2015 to be won by the party, IPN reports.

The municipal organization’s head Pavel Filip said that in order to achieve this desideratum, they need to strengthen the team. “The hardest work is yet to be done, and we should start from now,” stated Filip, who is the acting ICT Minister. According to him, the people are dissatisfied with the work of the Chisinau City Hall as the roads are in a bad state, the parking lots are insufficient in number, the City Hall is affected by corruption and the people do not trust it. “Things cannot go on like this. The PDM can provide the solution for Chisinau,” said the acting minister.

PDM chairman Marian Lupu said that Chisinau needs development projects in all the areas so that the people’s lives are improved day by day.  For this to happen, the party must tend to diversify and be stronger. As to the negotiations on the formation of a new Government that involve the PDM, the Democratic leader said that Moldova needs a Cabinet with members who haven’t been discredited and who support the European integration idea.

The PDM’s president of honor Dumitru Diacov said the party has always aimed to be a bridge between two extremes that divide society and instigate hatred and enmity. “We must emanate stability and create conditions for the people to live better and not to go abroad,” he stated.

Under the resolution, candidates will be selected for the mayor’s offices of Chisinau municipality and for seats of MPs representing the constituencies of Chisinau.
