The Democratic Party (PDM) is ready to consider candidate Vlad Filat for the post of Prime Minister if the leader of the PLDM convinces them that the set mechanisms will ensure transparency in the use of public money and if the situation in a number of institutions is clarified, the party’s leader Marian Lupu said after the April 3 consultations with President Nicolae Timofti, IPN reports.
Marian Lupu said the PDM will vote only for a candidate who puts the people’s interests above the personal ones. He also said that they will vote for a person who will provide guarantees that situations like that of February 13, when Vlad Filat withdrew from the AEI agreement, will not repeat. “A new Government should be created, which will have to take into account all the mistakes made in the past,” stated the Democratic leader.
On April 3, Nicolae Timofti held new consultations with the leaders of the parties of the former AEI with a view to identifying a candidate for premiership. Earlier, he pledged to present the candidate in Parliament on April 5. After the repeated consultations, he said the deadline can be extended.
