The Democratic Party of Moldova (PDM) submitted a complaint to the Central Election Commission against the candidate for President of the Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” Andrei Nastase, who it accuses of violation of the electoral legislation, IPN reports.
The PDM accuses the representatives of Andrei Nastase of distributing brochures that denigrate the Democrats and the first deputy chairman of the PDM Vlad Plahotniuc with the aim of spoiling the image of the Democratic candidate Marian Lupu in the campaign prior to the presidential elections.
The party says Andrei Nastase started the election campaign long before September 30 and collected signatures in his favor illegally. The PDM requests the CEC to examine the situation and ban the distribution of brochures that denigrate the PDM and to penalize candidate Andrei Nastase in accordance with the Election Code.
