The Democratic Party (PDM) could challenge the “transfer of image” made by President Igor Dodon on the Party of Socialists (PSRM) by openly throwing support and by his announcement that he could run in the upcoming parliamentary elections on the party’s list, Democratic MP Sergiu Sîrbu was quoted by IPN as saying in a TV program.
“I do not rule out the possibility that we will challenge the transfer of image and the use of administrative resources by the presidential institution that is financed by the state with the aim of improving the image of a political party and an electoral contender,” stated the MP.
Journalist Valeriu Reniță said the PSRM’s tactic to make public its future candidates is single-member constituencies is impudent and the party dares to do this because it enjoys the President’s protection.
On December 7, the PDM announced that it notified the institutions responsible for the organization of elections of violations of provisions of the Law on Political Party, the Election Code and the Broadcasting Code committed by parties and civic organizations.
