The Democratic Party of Moldova (PDM) congratulates all the Moldovan people on the occasion of the signing of the Association Agreement with the EU on June 27. It considers that the progress made by Moldova over the last few years is mainly due to the people who put their trust in the political class for holding negotiations with the EU on the liberalization of the via-regime and the opening of the European market, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué of the party.
“As a member of the pro-European Coalition and, earlier, of the Alliances for European Integration, the Democratic Party of Moldova consistently supported the implementation of the measures needed to strengthen the state and its institutions and establish solid commercial and cooperation relations with its international partners. Today the PDM ascertains with joy that the Moldovans are treated with respect in the European states to which they travel freely and that the rights of all the citizens, from all the regions of the country, regardless of ethnicity, are protected,” reads the communiqué.
The PDM calls on the whole political class to show responsibility and ratify the Association Agreement between Moldova and the EU in Parliament. A broad parliamentary support for the coming into force of this historical document will show that the politicians are determined to continue a process started in 2005, when the Declaration of the Parliament of Moldova on the political partnership for achieving the country’s European integration objectives was adopted. This accord means first of all a chance for more stability and prosperity for the people.
