The Democratic Party (PDM) does not accept marriages between homosexuals and is against the adoption of children by them and their public parades. The party will vote for the Law on Equal Opportunities as it does not allow such changes in Moldovan society, Info-Prim Neo reports. In televised programs, the PDM chairman Marian Lupu said they will discuss the adoption of the given law within the Council of the Alliance for European Integration. “This bill does not change the situation as regards the gay parades, adoptions by homosexuals and marriages between them. I was and will be against them. The workplaces situation remains a priority,” said Marian Lupu. He expressed his surprise at the fact that the EU demanded adopting this law for liberalizing the visa regime with Moldova. In the program “Moldova în direct” at Moldova 1 channel, political analyst Anatol Taranu said that there are persons in our society who oppose this law for political reasons. Journalist Vasile Botnaru, in the program “In profunzime” on ProTV channel, said he was convinced that the EU imposed such conditions in order to create certain reflexes in the Moldovans, like “if you want a visa-free regime, adopt certain reforms”. Marian Lupu said the PDM was satisfied with the refined antidiscrimination bill as the previous bill set precedents by which the homosexuals could ask for marriages and adoptions. Certain technical aspects will be polished and the law is to be passed by Parliament this week. He also said that according to his information, the new version of the law was approved of by some of the European authorities.
