The Democratic Party is accusing the government, more precisely the ACUM bloc, of exercising pressure practically in all territorial organizations. Democrats are calling on the bloc to stop these abuses, and the CEC to take note of the violations. Statements in this regard were made by the PDM chairman, Pavel Filip, and the general secretary of the party, Alexandru Jizdan, at a press conference, IPN reports.

According to the PDM secretary general, Alexandru Jizdan, the PDM members and candidates were and are blackmailed that, if they do not join the parties in power, they will be removed from their positions. Here he gave the example of a PDM promoter, director of "Anenii Noi Gaz" company, Veaceslav Bîstrițchi, who was asked to resign because "he is one of the most active members of the PDM, he actively participated in the election campaigns and helped PDM to get a good score in the elections”. The Democratic activist was coerced into leaving the PDM and joining the ACUM Bloc. He was also asked to persuade others to do the same. To keep his job, he convinced five mayors to leave the PDM, said Alexandru Jizdan.

The former Interior Minister has also specified that Democrats in the territory are threatened that, if they do not side with the governance, the PDM will be outlawed. According to Alexandru Jizdan, in the settlements of Hârbovăț and Cobusca Nouă in Anenii Noi, the two candidates running for mayor were proposed to withdraw from the election campaign, and if they fail to do so, they will be dealing with checks at the shops that they own.

The chairman of the Democratic Party, Pavel Filip, has mentioned that, regardless of the abuses against the members and candidates of the PDM, the party demonstrated on October 20 that "it is not a party of a single man, but of householders and professionals who work for the people. " This was proved, according to Pavel Filip, by the election of nearly 200 mayors in the first round.
