The Party of Development and Union of Moldova (PDCM) will restore the differentiated retirement age for women and men so that the women could retire earlier, the party’s president Ion Chicu stated in a meeting with employees of a bakery in Bălți, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the party.
Ion Chicu said he considers that a mistake was made in 2016 when the retirement age for women and men was equaled. “We must restore the differentiated retirement that existed earlier. The PDCM will also plead for early retirement if those entitled to this want to,” stated the ex-Premier.
He also said that the pension in Moldova is very low and does not meet the expectations. “Promising in campaign to raise the pension two or three times without knowing where to take money from is unserious and we will not do it. We yet know that starting with 2022, one more pension, the 13th, can be paid to those whose pension is lower than the minimum subsistence level. In four years, this level can be raised to 4,000 lei,” stated the leader of the PDCM.
Ion Chicu noted that some can only scare the people with “budget gaps”, while the PDCM’s team knows how the revenues can be raised. “The people are able to analyze things and see what’s going on in Moldova and what promises can become a reality and what promises will remain empty words,” he stated.
