The Moldovan Democratic Party (PDM) aims at solving the problem of political managers, this being one of the Party’s recently launched reforms, reports Info-Prim Neo, quoting a communiqué from the meeting between PDM deputy vice-president Vlad Plahotniuc, and General Secretary of Socialist International Luis Ayala. The meeting was part of the convention program for Socialist International’s Committee for the CIS, Caucasus and Black Sea region, which takes places in Chisinau. “We’ve received positive signals after the 7th Congress, and I can confirm that we have used the energy of the event, in order to commence serious reforms within the Democratic Party’s organization. One of the negative aspects that Moldovan political parties face is the lack of so-called political managers, whose role is to give coherence to the party’s activities, and through the reforms that we promote within the Democratic Party we try to create a model of political management”, stated Vlad Plahotniuc. Vlad Plahotniuc mentioned a different pension calculation method that would reduce inequity in the system, and the introduction of a unique taxing system in agriculture, among other initiative promoted by the PDM. The General Secretary of Socialist International stated that Moldova should promote its interests both towards the East and the West, and that the problems currently faced by Europe can be transformed into opportunities for Moldova. Luis Ayala mentioned that in his home country Chile the economic indices multiplied by 5 times, due to the policies implemented by left wing Parties, and there is virtually no unemployment. “The Republic of Moldova started its change in 2009; you have that unique ability to move forwards and achieve your democratic aspirations”, said Luis Ayala. Regional members of Socialist International and Euro-Parliament MPs participate in the convention of Socialist International’s Committee for the CIS, Caucasus and Black Sea region.
