The Communist Party (PCRM) demands discharging the Premier and the Head of Parliament and, as a result, calling early legislative elections. According to the party, the elections must take place not later than the middle of June, while the date should be set in a transparent way, Info-Prim Neo reports.
In a statement, the PCRM says the beginning of the year was marked by a deep political crisis, while the corruption-related scandals involving the ruling alliance confirmed the worst fears – the Republic of Moldova is controlled by criminal groups. The PCRM calls on all the MPs of the Alliance for European Integration to give public answers to the parliamentary opposition’s proposals.
The PCRM asks urgently modifying the structure of the Central Election Commission and of the Broadcasting Coordination Council. They also ask for additional legislative guarantees for hindering election rigging. The PCRM demands that the Prosecutor’s Office, the Security and Information Service, and the Ministry of the Interior immediately stop the repression against the opposition media outlets.
The refusal to examine these initiatives will be regarded by the PCRM as illegal maintenance of power and it will call upon the people to stage an action for the ‘political capitulation’ of the government.
