One year after the April 7 events, the Communists Party (PCRM) reiterates in a press statement that those events constituted an attempted coup and that the leaders of the Liberal-Democratic parties are to blame for what happened, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“After the July 29, 2009 elections, the Opposition came to power, while the organizers of the April 7 riots rule the country. In the interim, they provided no proofs showing that the elections (April 5 elections – e.n.) were rigged, but transformed the April 7 events into a national holiday, considering it a revolution. The coup goes on,” the statement says.
It also says that the defeat in the democratic elections made the political leaders of the Liberal Democratic Party and the Liberal Party resort to a criminal adventure through a coup. 'They (the PLDM and PL) gathered their supporters in the Great National Assembly Square, sanctioning thus the public disorder and the acts of devastation and vandalism that took place during April 7. The setting on fire and devastation of the Parliament Building and the Presidential Office, the hoisting of the Romanian flag, the organized attack on the police are criminal acts that were witnessed by the entire Moldovan society,” the PCRM says.
The Communists Party considers that only the failure of the “party of devastators” in the early elections and the political will of the largest part of the Moldovan society can stop the vandals who took over the power. “The present regime made everything possible to disappoint all those who believe in democracy, the Constitution and statehood of Moldova. The time of devastators comes to an end. All the people of the country must now make a joint decision in the name of freedom, the European future and justice,” the statement says.
