The Communists Party (PCRM) and the Democratic Party (PDM) discussed the structure of the Government of the possible center-left coalition. Most probably, it would consist of 16 ministries, the Communist leader Vladimir Voronin said Friday after the discussions with the Democrats that lasted for about an hour, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Vladimir Voronin said they did not discuss who and what positions will hold. They only made proposals. The leader of the PCRM also said that the persons who would serve in the Government will be chosen according to the criterion of professionalism. Thus, they cannot speak about a ratio of Communists to Democrats in the executive.
Asked if the PCRM will vote in favor of the candidate for the presidency proposed by a possible center-right coalition, Vladimir Voronin said there are two possibilities. The first is the candidate will be a person from outside Parliament and political parties, while the second is the Constitution will be amended by the MPs.
In another development, Vladimir Voronin refuted that he was taken to the hospital after his meeting with Sergey Naryshkin, as it was rumored, but admitted that he was affected by a viral infection after a meeting with voters in Telenesti district and is receiving treatment at home.
After the meeting, the Democrat leader Marian Lupu said they did not discuss the distribution of the senior posts, but the working mechanisms of the future Government. He said the future coalition should be formed by the end of this year as neither the fiscal nor budgetary policies for 2011 were agreed.
