The Party of Communist (PCRM) put forward Daac Hermes manager Vasile Chirtoca for the post of mayor of Chisinau. Chirtoca is not a party member.
The decision to field Vasile Chirtoca for the mayoralty of Chisinau was taken in the April 25 meeting of the PCRM’s Central Committee. MP Corneliu Mihalache, who is a member of the Central Committee, has told IPN that Vasile Chirtoca is a very suitable candidate as he is a successful manager.
Vasile Chirtoca, born in 1958, manages the largest network of auto companies in Moldova.
The Committee also agreed the list of candidates for the posts of Chisinau councilor. It includes such Communist MPs as Boris Golovin, Sergiu Stati and Alexandr Bannicov as well as the first secretaries of the Chisinau district committees of the PCRM.
