The members of the Communist parliamentary group say the Parliament
should convene within three days. They signed an application, whereby
they demand calling a special sitting of the legislative body, Info-Prim
Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the PCRM.
The Communist group requests questioning the National Bank governor, the
chairman of the National Financial Market Commission, the prosecutor
general, the director of the Security and Information Service, and the
head of the Center for Combating Corruption and Economic Crime about the
threats to the economic security of the state and the financial-banking
sector.
The Communist lawmakers say the attempts to appropriate important
shareholdings in financial-banking institutions should be addressed in
an extraordinary session of the Parliament.
“The country’s economic security is in danger, but the administration of
the National Bank of Moldova, the National Financial Market Commission,
the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Security and Information Service,
and the Center for Combating Corruption and Economic Crime irresponsibly
fulfill their duties,” says the PCRM.
Earlier, the PLDM also asked calling a parliamentary sitting to question
representatives of the mentioned institutions.
Under Article 67, paragraph (2) of the Constitution of Moldova and
Article 37 of the Parliament’s Regulations, the legislature holds
extraordinary or special sittings at the request of the President of
Moldova, Speaker or one third of the MPs.
