The Party of Communists (PCRM) condemns the Chisinau City Hall’s decision to begin repair works on Stefan cel Mare Blvd exactly on the eve of the concert that was to be given in the Great National Assembly Square to celebrate Russia Day, IPN reports.
Communist MP Violeta Ivanov said the PCRM is revolted at the mayor general’s actions aimed at blocking the celebration of Russia Day in Chisinau. Moldova has for many years celebrated the Days of Germany, France and other countries and this is a good practice. The PCRM demands that steps should be taken to ensure the celebration of Russia Day in Chisinau too.
Eduard Musuc, who runs for the post of Chisinau councilor on behalf of the PCRM, noted that Stefan cel Mare si Sfant Blvd hasn’t been repaired for eight years. Three days before the elections, the mayor decided to start the repair works. Such a decision wasn’t taken accidentally.
On June 9, the Chisinau City hall announced that Stefan cel Mare si Sfant Blvd will be under repair and all the events planned to be staged in the central square will be transferred to other places. A concert involving Russian singers was to be held in the Great National Assembly Square on June 11.
