The Communists and sympathizers of the PCRM mounted a solidarity march on May 1 with traditional slogans, criticizing the government and demanding early elections, IPN reports.

According to the Communist leader Vladimir Voronin, Moldova is managed by usurpers of power and mafiotic groups. “We must return the power to the people. We will succeed because we have the people’s support,” he stated.

“Today the workers are in opposition, but those who appropriate the results of their work lead them without talent. Today, all the workers, all the people of good faith have the same slogans. Down with the horde that poisons our people’s conscience,” said Communist MP Mark Tlachuk.

The PCRM’s column set off from the Academy of Sciences, went along Stefan cel Mare Blvd. and headed for the Ministry of Agriculture, where the lawmakers have their offices, chanting: “Down with the alliance!”. Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca was booed. Several protesters carried flags with the words “Down with the alliance!” and “AEI is no more and we will make sure that it is not restored”.

According to the police, about 2,000 people took part in the march.
