The Communist Party (PCRM) is warning the voters, the relevant bodies and the international observers that the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) intends to rig the outcome of the upcoming parliamentary elections. In a declaration posted on its official website, the Communist Party said that thousands of voters received letters from the Liberal Democratic Party which, in addition to standard campaign information, request them to send back to the PLDM detailed personal information about their relatives, including address, political affiliation and political preferences. The PCRM considers that this information will be used by the PLDM to falsify the elections by adding thousands of voters to the electoral rolls, by faking signatures, by issuing thousands of copies of ID appendices, which will lead to multiple voting. PCRM said it would warn the Central Election Commission and the Prosecutor General's Office about this practice. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, PLDM spokesperson Larisa Manole has said the letters are actually addressed to party members and are intended to encourage them and their relatives to vote. She also has denied the reports that the letters request information on political affiliation and political preferences.
