Communist MPs accused today, December 26, their colleagues in the Parliament of cheating when numbering the MPs’ votes. Allegedly, in the sectors where the Alliance’s MPs are seated, there are fewer MPs than votes announced. The accusations stirred an exchange of words in which Speaker Marian Lupu was also involved, Info-Prim Neo reports. PCRM’s Grigore Petrenco asked the Speaker to count the votes in sectors personally, claiming that for a proposed draft law there were actually 6 votes less than announced. In response, Marian Lupu told Petrenco he cannot be told what to do and if Petreco disagreed of something, he should propose himself as the one to count votes in the sectors in question. After this exchange of remarks, the leader of the Liberal-Democratic group Valeriu Strelet was seen asking his colleagues to remain seated when voting.
