Wrestler Pavel Voronin won bronze at the World Games of Wroclaw, Poland. In the 91kg class, he beat Morocco’s El Yacoubi Tawfik, but lost to Poland’s Mateusz Pluta in the semifinals, IPN reports.
In the match for the bronze medal, Voronin defeated Alves Willer of Brazil. The squad headed by Eugen Musalimov also included Alexandru Bejenaru (75kg class), Denis Telesman (81 kg) and Adrian Gologan (86 kg), but these lost in the quarterfinals.
Moldova will also be represented in dance sports. The pair Gabriele Goffredo - Anna Matus, who last year won gold, will compete in Latin, while Dumitru Cusnir and Valeria Gumeniuc in Standard.
