The European integration remains a priority for the Republic of Moldova. That’s why after March 14, when the Moldova– EU Association Council will have a meeting in Brussels, the authorities will continue to assiduously implement the provisions of the Association Agreement, Prime Minister Pavel Filip said after the March 10 meeting of the governmental commission for European integration. The preparations for the meeting of the Moldova – EU Association Council were the main subject from the agenda, IPN reports, quoting the Government’s press service.
“The carrying out of the overdue measures from the Association Agreement with the European Union is one of the objectives we set on the very first day after taking up our duties. I requested the ministries to hasten the implementation of the measures assumed before the European partners. In this regard, we drew up a schedule for taking the overdue measures and a roadmap, which was presented to the European partners,” stated the Premier.
Pavel Filip noted that these actions are needed not for reporting the fulfillment of commitments and for obtaining assistance from the European partners, but for promoting internal reforms and modernizing the Republic of Moldova.
In the meeting of the governmental commission for European integration, the ministers of internal affairs, justice and finance reported on the latest steps taken to carry out the overdue measures stipulated in the Association Agreement. Relevant information was also presented by the representatives of the Civil Aviation Authority and the National Anticorruption Center.
There were also discussed the preparation of the Moldovan delegation for the second meeting of the Moldova – EU Association Council. In this connection, Pavel Filip asked all the institutions to immediately furnish all the necessary information so as to ensure a professional performance at this event.
