Prime Minister Pavel Filip considers the visit paid to Brussels last week was a successful one. He spoke about the results of this visit in the talk show “Reply” on Prime TV channel, IPN reports.
“Three very important conclusions can be drawn as a result of this visit. First of all, the EU continues to support the Republic of Moldova in its European integration efforts. Secondly, the current Government of the Republic of Moldova was recognized as a Government that managed to remove very serious shortcomings in the implementation of the Association Agreement with the EU in a very short period of time. Thirdly, we managed to take a first step towards restoring European partners’ confidence,” said the Premier.
Pavel Filip noted that he started to prepare for the visit to Brussels immediately after being sworn into office. “I then had a telephone discussion with the European partners. Together we agreed a roadmap for liquidating the shortcomings in the in the implementation of the Association Agreement. We managed to do everything we planned for this period,” he said.
The Prime Minister also said that he will pay increased attention to the investigation of the bank frauds as this is one of the main conditions imposed by the MEPs. “The results of the second part of the investigation carried out by Kroll Company will be soon provided and things will become clearer as to the theft of the US$1 billion. It is very important for this money to be restored. Also, it is important for all the involved persons to answer for what they did in accordance with the law so that no other such cases happen,” he stated.
