The relations between Moldova and the Russian Federation were discussed by Prime Minister Pavel Filip and President Vladimir Putin in a meeting on the sidelines of the session of the Council of CIS Heads of State held in Bishkek on September 16-17, IPN reports.

According to the Government’s press service, Pavel Filip said the dissuasion was constructive and centered on matters of mutual interest. In particular, it was decided to continue work on the plan of measures agreed by the Moldovan Premier and his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev during a meeting of the CIS Heads of Government hosted also by Bishkek.

“The groups of experts of the Republic of Moldova and the Russian Federation already met and drafted a document. We will do our best to bring this plan of measures to an end so as to solve a number of problems existing now between Moldova and Russia,” stated Pavel Filip.

He noted that the CIS meetings are a suitable platform for communication, including at bilateral level, as they enable to discuss and identify solutions to problems that appear between the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
