The priority reform action roadmap for implementing the Association Agreement with the EU will be carried out by the end of this month, when the deadline expires, but now this document is over 70% fulfilled, Prime Minister Pavel Filip stated in the talk show “Reply” on Prime TV channel, IPN reports.
The Premier expressed the conviction that the roadmap will be implemented by the July 31 deadline and this will restore the Moldovan development partners’ confidence.
“This roadmap was first of all a solution for restoring the relations with our EU partners after a profound disappointment last year and the implementation period was a short one, until July 31. Why July 31? Because the spring-summer session of Parliament ends then and the document contains joint commitments of the Government and Parliament. When I went to Brussels, I said that they should not believe our words or promises and we should agree some commitments so that our accomplishments could be judged by the way these commitments are fulfilled,” stated Pavel Filip.
According to him, the given deadline was a common idea of the Government of Moldova and the EU representatives.
“It was a joint idea. In fact, it couldn’t be otherwise as Parliament works until then and then goes on vacation or may yet work. It’s not yet known. It depends on how we succeed. By now we have implemented over 70% of the roadmap. This week and next week we are to approve many documents. I’m sure that we will succeed in implementing the roadmap,” stated Pavel Filip.
