Prime Minister Pavel Filip, after 100 days in office, said that a lot was said about reforms during the last few years and this issue became fashionable in the speeches of all the politicians at a time when these should have focused on concrete actions. “The profound reform will start with the Government where we work,” stated the official, quoted by IPN.

“In the immediate future, we will launch a broad process of restructuring the Government. We will dissolve more than one third of the existing ministries and agencies. This will be the most profound and ambitious reform of the central public administration that was ever done in the Republic of Moldova, but also the most difficult one,” stated the Premier.

The portfolios of the ministries and agencies that will be liquidated will be transferred to the remaining ones. “During these 100 days, we worked intensely on this project together with specialists and colleagues from the Government and foreign experts. We analyzed the best formulas so as to ensure the real optimization of the Government and a healthy reformation. In the immediate period, we will finalize the restructuring plan and will soon start to put it into practice, after we finish the consultations with the colleagues from the parliamentary alliance on whose political support I count in this important reformation project. It will be a long-lasting project implemented in stages. I hope we will complete it by autumn,” said Pavel Filip.

He added that the goal is not to reduce the personnel. The good specialists will continue to work. “The goal of this reform is to optimize and improve work. That‘s why we involved foreign experts to help us with the technical part,” stated the Prime Minister.

He also said that the process of strengthening Moldova’s European integration agenda started and will continue by speeding up reforms. “We will work more to strengthen the major bilateral relations in Europe and the world: a diplomatic and foreign trade offensive will be launched to conquer new markets and bring more investors to Moldova,” promised the official.

Pavel Filip noted that the country’s reunification and the consolidation of the state are a priority for the Government. Measures are being taken to build confidence between the two sides of the Nistru River and the authorities are hopeful that 2016 will be favorable for negotiations.
