The Democratic Party has a candidate for any functions, including Speaker and Prime Minister, and all of them are skilled people with potential, who have proved themselves before. This is what PDM parliamentary group leader Pavel Filip told the journalists who asked if the Democrats have a Speaker candidate, IPN reports.
He says that the PDM group will act according to the program it had agreed with its voters. The MPs will focus on social projects, some of which are already underway. Filip explained that the Parliament is functional, but not yet fully operational because the leadership hasn’t been elected and nothing can be done until this is solved.
“Unfortunately, this meeting was a short one and now we have this break, a break during which we have to hold talks regarding the new parliamentary majority”, said the former prime minister. “I won’t tell you anything new. The Democratic Party tried to talk to the NOW bloc. Maybe if those discussions had taken place, this meeting would have been more efficient. Regrettably, it didn’t happen”, explained Filip.
As regards the NOW bloc’s protest before the meeting of the Parliament, Pavel Filip admits it is a democratic instrument, but suggested problems should be solved by dialogue, not on the streets. The MP also said that his colleague Andrian Candu, the previous Speaker, had been abroad and was on his way back, but didn’t manage to return in time for the meeting of the Legislative.
