“The discussions start form pro-European, pro-Western views. What do you do in a coalition with the Party of Socialists? And then offers are made. Our former colleague Vladimir Cebotari went to a part of our MPs and made offers to them after discussions. I can tell you that he wrote the figure of €1 million on the cellphone, which was the offer for leaving the Democratic parliamentary group and joining the Pro Moldova group or the Shor Party’s group,” said the leader of the PDM Pavel Filip, noting this is one of the methods by which the Democratic MPs are tempted to leave their group, IPN reports.

He noted that practically all the Democratic MPs has such kind of ‘visitors’. Pavel Filip said he had discussions on the issue with representatives of the National Anticorruption Center (NAC).

“I hope a lot that the responsible institutions will investigate this case and will achieve results. Those discussions existed and criminal cases were started. I cannot tell you how many persons denounced this fact as not only MPs of the Democratic Party were made such offers, but also a part of the Socialist MPs, as far as I know. I had a discussion with representatives of the given institutions and told them what I know. Our colleagues will be probably invited to provide explanations,” Pavel Filip stated in the talk show “Moldova Live” on the public TV channel Moldova 1.

The politician also said that the Democratic MPs are not always approached directly. Most of the times, the offers are made through the agency of several intermediaries. “What I know from our mates is that a particular person goes to them and there are several persons who go to our colleagues. The approach is rather intelligent. A number of intermediaries are involved so that a relative or a close friend ultimately approaches our mates. They chose this method so as to eliminate the possibility of submitting denouncements to the Prosecutor General’s Office”.

Pavel Filip noted that he wasn’t made offers and it would be sheer impudence if something like this is done. But everything is possible in Moldova.
