Prime Minister Pavel Filip said the situation in Moldova is now delicate and, in such conditions, the Government he heads does not have grace periods as the people want swift results. The statement was made in a meeting with the Presidents of the Senate and Chamber of Deputies of Romania, IPN reports.
According to the Government’s press service, the officials discussed the economic and sociopolitical situation in the Republic of Moldova. “The situation in Moldova is delicate, but we have a big chance to stabilize it. If the Government takes swiftly the actions expected by society, the people will be near us in doing reforms. The Government does not have grace periods. The people want to see results speedily,” said Pavel Filip.
For his part, the Senate’s President Calin Popescu-Tariceanu assured the members of Moldova’s Government of Romania’s support. “Life consists of challenges. Our role is to find solutions to deal with the political, economic and social challenges. We are making effort to find methods to support the Republic of Moldova based on our experience,” he stated
The Chamber of Deputies’ President Valeriu Zgonea assured the delegation of the Moldovan Government that Romania will continue to support Moldova, saying the agreement to lend €150 million is a proof of this.
The discussions also centered on the disbursement of the first tranche of €60 million of the loan provided by Romania after the Romanian Parliament reruns the vote and the President of Romania Klaus Iohannis promulgates the memorandum.
