The Government is taking steps to ensure good cooperation with the development partners and the re-launch of the investment programs, which is an indispensable condition for laying the foundations of sustainable economic growth, increasing the people’s incomes and, as a result, the purchasing power and for improving the quality of life, Prime Minister Pavel Filip said in a meeting with representatives of the National Confederation of Trade Unions of Moldova. He noted that the ensuring of social equity and justice is the executive’s priority, IPN reports.
According to the Government’s press service, the meeting centered on the social dialogue, the problems faced in the social insurance system and remuneration-related problems. Pavel Filip spoke about the implemented measures and the actions that are to be taken to ensure the financial-economic stability of the country by strengthening discipline in the fiscal and customs sectors and increasing thus the amounts collected into the budget.
The Premier noted that the Government aims to first of all ensure transparency and efficient communication with all the participants in the social dialogue. The penalties for violating the labor legislation will be made harsher.
National Confederation of Trade Unions chairman Oleg Budza and the leaders of sector trade union organizations attending the meeting said the consolidation of the legislative and normative frameworks for protecting the rights of employees, indexation of salaries and social welfare and combating of illegal labor and illegal payment of salaries are among the key problems that the Government should dealt with as matters of urgency.
The interlocutors also discussed measures to support the socially disadvantaged persons, the legislation on the pension system, the need to increase the support intended for health spas and sanatoriums and for institutions responsible for the organization of child treatment and rest in summer.
