With the signing of the Free Trade Agreement between Moldova and China, the economic connections between the two countries will be intensified and the Moldovan products will become competitive on the Chinese market, Prime Minister Pavel Filip stated in the Moldova-China Business Forum held in Chisinau today, April 3. Moldova and China hold the fourth round of negotiations on the agreement, IPN reports.
According to the Government’s press service, the Premier approved of the traditional friendship religions between the two countries. He expressed his confidence that this forum will provide a suitable platform for establishing subsequent partnerships. Pavel Filip invited the Chinese businesspeople to invest in Moldova and to benefit from the advantages offered by the Free Trade Agreements it has with the EU, Turkey and the CIS.
The Premier also spoke about the pro-business measures taken by the Government. He noted the favorable business development conditions in the Free Economic Zones, the Industrial Parks and the IT Park “Tekwill” and the actions taken by the executive to facilitate the obtaining of visas by Chinese citizens.
The Chinese businesspeople welcomed the facilitation of the obtaining of visas for Moldova and expressed interest in studying the investment opportunities offered by the country. They said the 20 companies that form part of the delegation represent the most important areas, such as production, IT and tourism.
During April 21-28, a delegation of the Economic Council working under the Prime Minister will pay a visit to China to undertake the best practices from the similar Chinese body.
A number of 86 companies with Chinese investments work in Moldova at present. The People’s Republic of China ranks sixth among the most important commercial partners of Moldova.
