The economic growth in the recent period is due to the rise in investments, Prime Minister Pavel Filip stated in a program on Publika TV channel. According to him, investments totaling over US$ 115 million were recorded last year in the Free Economic Zones alone, IPN reports.

The Premier said more than 7,500 jobs were created in the Free Economic Zones. During three years since the start of 2016, the Republic of Moldova collected budget revenues that were by over 12 million lei larger than those of the previous years. The Government copes with the money available in the national economy after a part of the foreign financing was stopped.

Pavel Filip noted the economic growth in the first half of this year was of 5.2%. “I can tell you with certitude that the engines of the economy were started and it is very important for the revolutions to increase in frequency in 2019,” he stated.

The Premier added the Government will make effort for the parliamentary elections to take place freely and fairly. A government coalition should be formed as swiftly as possible so that the initiated projects could be continued.

On December 14, Prime Minister Pavel Filip presented the Government’s report for 2016-2018 in Parliament.
